Alcohol ban on public transports [Shower]

Revellers' farewell to Tube alcohol
Sunday, June 1, 2008

"Hundreds of revellers took to the London underground to give drinking alcohol on the Tube a send-off to remember.

An alcohol ban, announced by new London Mayor Boris Johnson, has come into effect on the Tube, London buses, Docklands Light Railway and tram services across the capital.

Drinking from - and carrying - open containers of alcohol has been banned. Party-goers clutching copious quantities of alcohol met at Liverpool Street Station's west-bound Circle Line platform."

Tube party 'far uglier' than reported
Monday, June 2, 2008

"Violence on the London Underground during Saturday's alcohol ban Tube party was “far uglier” than initially reported, The Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) has said.

As well as 17 arrests, other attacks which have not been reported in detail include a female worker being hit by a bottle, a staff member punched in the face and a passenger climbing onto the roof of a train."
